Australian Open Debtors officials release list of players fined during the tournament.
Australian Open officials have released the list of players who were fined for their behaviour across the first week and a half of the tournament, with Aussie Daria Saville featuring.
Saville, who was controversially awarded a wildcard at the expense of Australia’s top-ranked women’s player Arina Rodionova, couldn’t make the most of the chance and lost 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 5-7 to Magdalena Fręch in the first round.
She also lost in the second round of the women’s doubles and first round of the mixed (with Ajla Tomljanovic and husband Luke Saville respectively), making it a rather brutal tournament for the Aussie fan favourite. But to make matters worse, Saville has now copped a $7600 from organisers.Daria Saville hit with $7600 fine in ugly aftermath of Australian Open controversy
